Jewelry Care Guide
Our jewelry consists of base metals that are stainless steel or sterling silver (.925). In addition, some products may have gold or rose gold plating. This can be viewed in the product description.
Things to keep in mind:
- Stainless steel is more durable than sterling silver and significantly less likely to tarnish or be damaged over time.
- Sterling silver is composed of precious metals making it more valuable and lightweight but is more prone to tarnishing and scratches.
- Stainless steel can last hundreds of years with proper care whereas sterling silver may only last up to 25 years even with proper care.
- Plating may wear off over time to reveal the base metal.
Jewelry that is incorrectly cared for may tarnish with time. This is caused by any metal, including gold and silver, that comes into contact with moisture, oils, acids and air.
Refrain from performing manual labor while wearing jewelry to help prolong the life of your jewelry.
